Classical and Contemporary Music

Shakespeare in opera (sold out)

Many, many composers have set Shakespeare to music, starting with William Purcell in the Baroque period, through Charles Gounod and Giuseppe Verdi, to Benjamin Britten and much more contemporary musicians. The theatrical situations are both incredibly strong, sometimes dramatic and sometimes very funny. The "lyrical art" class takes this musical and theatrical material and presents a playful and moving show.
