Lecture
"Reading" What? What is it? Reading? Do you have to know how to read to play jazz?
September 14 2023 20:30
"Les Lecteurs Magnifiques" are giving a concert of compositions written by Pirly Zurstrassen for the Jazz Reading exams at the Conservatoire royal de Bruxelles. For the past three years, Pirly has been collaborating with Arild Stenberg, professor and research associate at the Universities of Cambridge and ULB, who is working on a new "design" for musical notation, making reading easier and more fluid and musical. In this concert, "Les Lecteurs Magnifiques" will be participating live in Arild Stenberg's study, using the scores that are the fruit of the researcher's labors.
