Georges Octors 2024 prize-giving concert

November 27 2024 19:30

Following the death of Georges Octors on 18 June 2020 at the age of 97, a prize has been set up at the initiative of the Ville de Bruxelles to pay tribute to him. Each year, the prize will be awarded to a student from each of Brussels' two major music schools, the Conservatoire royal de Bruxelles and the Koninklijke Conservatorium Brussel. The winners are selected by the teachers at the two Royal Conservatoires.

This year, the clarinet is in the spotlight, and Ronald Van Spaendonck, clarinet teacher at the Conservatoire royal de Bruxelles, has selected the Korean clarinettist Yeosong CHANG.

The Conservatoire's clarinet class will accompany her in Weber's ‘Concertino’ and Ciesla's ‘Fantaisie’ for the prize-giving ceremony.
