In the ethics of care, "taking care" designates both an attitude and a mechanism. Knowing how to be and knowing how to do are linked to develop practices guided by attention to others. This ethical perspective makes it possible to highlight avenues of critical reflection to accompany pedagogical practices.

Catherine Bert holds a doctorate in philosophy and additional diplomas in sociology and international relations and comparative politics. Her professional activities are divided between teaching ethics and research at the Haute Ecole Vinci. Catherine Bert is also a scientific collaborator at the Centre for Bioethics of UNamur. Her research and interests focus on the ethics of care (gender issues and the status of vulnerability) as well as on the relational approach to autonomy.
