Created just 20 years ago, the Art and Art Sciences research area has opened up access to the doctoral degree to artists from the Écoles supérieures des arts. Profoundly innovative and original, the thesis in Art and the Sciences of Art combines the development and presentation of artistic work of the highest level with a written production developed in symbiosis. This doctoral research is developed within universities in close partnership with art schools.
As part of their doctoral training, organised by the Fonds national de la recherche scientifique, doctoral students are required to give a mid-term presentation on the progress of their research. For 20 minutes, the doctoral students will present the fruits of their labours to the general public.
The Arts Class of the Royal Academy of Belgium is delighted to be able to welcome five artists working in the field of live performance, in all its diversity, this year.
