Ars Musica - 2022 - Big Science

An ideal balance between mathematics and musical composition, the renewal of sound research through computers and technology, the poetry of the imagination of the stars and the cosmos, science, which has a dense and fruitful relationship with music, will be the theme of Ars Musica, the international biennial event for creative music, in 2022. Whether it is a working method or an object of reverie, science has always offered a multitude of inventive approaches to artistic and musical creation.

November 18 2022 10:00 > December 2 2022 22:00

In Ars Musica's 2022 programme, the scientific object will run through, among other works, an improvisation on the writings of Galileo (Et pourtant elle tourne), a mythical opera on Albert Einstein (Einstein on the Beach by Philipp Glass), a visionary taste for the cosmos (Apollo by Brian Eno) or for science fiction with Jean-Luc Fafchamps, but also a research on the poetic, artistic and "robotic" crossroads between images and sounds in a futuristic cinema (Metropolis by Fritz Lang, by Martin Matalon) It is also in the presence of Laurie Anderson, whose album Big Science turns forty in 2022 and gives its title to this edition of Ars Musica, that science will be presented as a dynamic and transdisciplinary vector of creative music.
